Sunderland RFC U7 to U18 Players Code of Conduct

Players Should:

•Learn & play to the Laws of the game. Accept without question referees decisions.
•Maintain self-discipline. Verbal or physical abuse of team mates, opponents, or match officials is not acceptable.
•Play rugby in a good spirit - win or lose.
•Play because you want to, not to please coaches or parents. Remember that skill development, fun and enjoyment are the most important parts of the game.
•Respect your coaches, team mates, opposition, match officials, and parents.
•Arrive for games and practice sessions on time.
•Always have correct clothing, footwear and protective equipment, a drink and dry warm clothing to change into after a game or practice session.
•Always notify your coach in good time if you are unfit, injured or unable to get to practice session or a game.
•Listen to advice and instructions from your coach at games and practice sessions.
•Always work to improve individual skills and learn how to play as part of a team.
•Understand the value of loyalty and commitment to team mates.
•Respect and do not misuse or damage the facilities of Sunderland RFC or of any opposition club.
•Remove muddy dirty boots and clothing before entering the clubhouse.
•Ensure membership fees and weekly subscriptions are paid and up to date.

Players should:

•Recognise that all young players have the right to expect their involvement in rugby to be safe and free from all types of bullying and abuse.

•Understand that if you or groups of young players feel that you are being bullied or abused, you can tell an adult at the rugby club or at home, and they will take action.
